The Syracuse Post-Standard reported this morning:
A contract covering 238 of the 657 employees at James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power plant in Scriba expires Friday night, creating the potential for a strike if no agreement is reached.
Plant owner Entergy Nuclear Northeast has developed contingency plans to run the reactor without the union workers if necessary, said Tammy Holden, speaking for Entergy.
The same union went out on strike at another New York nuclear plant earlier this year:
The two neighboring reactors at Nine Mile Point nuclear station endured an 18-day strike earlier this year during which non-union employees ran the plants. The strike ended July 27 after an agreement was reached with help of a federal mediator.
